That side indent ruins the whole thing.

I feel that way about the side indent in the Charger and the downward swoosh on the Malibu and yet people think I’m insane.

I keep these in the back of my head as possible future vehicle. Have always been sad you can not get 6sp + Boost + AWD though.
Phyrxes once again has a wagon!

Yeah, that’s kind of depressing. I’d get an auto AWD Regal GS then put a Regal Turbo front end on it. The GS bumper is far too busy.

It’s not like Buick hasn’t been doing the waterfall grille since the 30s or anything

I always liked the look of those wheels. Pretty slick color combo there too.

I don’t actually think this, just bringing up how Jake hates this on the Charger but likes it here. I could care less about a Buick.

Yeah I know, I’m just saying, waterfall + circle badge + mid-level brand, matches up pretty well.

I saw one of these at work with massive 6 piston brembos on it. No idea why it would need those.

I’ve heard this is the most boring 250hp on the road, which is sad.

That’s a pity. It looks nice. Turbo is kinda laggy though. Completely gutless undre 3500rpm

The following is from someone who bought a CPO 2012 Regal GS Manual:
If Buick was trying to build a car that would appeal to the ‘youths’, this would probably have to be it.
My 2012 makes 270hp and 295lb-ft. It weighs around 3700lb. These numbers are very nice, but the dyno tells the whole picture - when the turbo spools up, you have a beautiful plateau of torque (at least 250lb-ft) from 1500rpm to 5500rpm. In real-world driving, that shove feels great. You pretty much never have to go over 2500rpm in daily driving unless you want to. The shift light (for eco driving) suggests you shift to 6th at 40mph. That means it’s turning about 1200-1300rpm. Surprisingly, you’re not lugging it - it just doesn’t care. That 270hp hits at 5300rpm, but builds very linearly up to that point. It’s quite fun to bury the throttle and watch what happens.
The 6-speed makes this thing wonderful. The clutch is light enough for traffic yet has (IMO) easy-to-grasp engagement. The gearbox is a little heavy handed for some, but I find it feels perfect for the car. But this gearbox paired with that engine make this vehicle perfect for road trips. In fact, I’ve done about 5k miles worth of road trips in it in the past month. Why is it perfect? When on the highway doing anything more than 55mph, it’s little effort to get the turbo to spool up. This car is EPA rated at 19/27 on premium. I just got back from Pensacola Beach, and I averaged 29.4 for the entire week, including somewhere near 5 hours of literal stop-and-go traffic. Both fillups on the return trip home (I’m in Central Arkansas) netted a calculated 32.0 and 32.75mpg respectively (I use an app called Acar). My trip to and from Colorado Springs netted 31mpg average. This was all done with the cruise set at 5mph over whatever the speed limit was. Thanks to many torques, you never have to downshift and build up power for hills or to re-accelerate up to speed after a ‘Reduced Speed Zone’.
The ride is... interesting... The closest I can compare it to is my brother’s 2008 Mazda6 Sedan. The ride is compliant yet taut, but does bounce slightly. This does mean, however, that there is very little body roll. It utilizes ZF-sourced electronically-controlled shocks, but I notice no difference in their stiffness between Normal, Sport, or GS modes. Again, pretty good overall.
I plan on doing a full write-up on it whenever I get a chance, but it’s a car that I would happily recommend to anyone.

That on its own was an excellent read. I’ve never driven a manual Regal GS but now I definitely will have to go cruising the nearby lots to find one. I agree on it being appealing to youth, I’ve never seen anyone over 35 driving one of these.

Thanks! There’s actually way more to write about (the styling, the sound - both the exhaust and the Harman/Kardon 9-Speaker, the interior space, the interior quality, etc...) just off the top of my head. I ended up buying mine after test driving a different (non-CPO, non-CarFax-offered, previously-wrecked) one while I was out looking for a Grand Cherokee Overland. My cross-shopping list is weird... Regardless, here’s a few pics of mine for reference though:
